Our Stay At: One Ocean Resort
Hey Friends! and Happy Monday! I wanted to recap our recent staycation at One Ocean Resort. Fun fact, this resort is about 15 min away from our house- we can actually walk here from my inlaw's house! We also got engaged at One Ocean and stayed there a year later for our wedding night, so lots of fun memories at this local resort and I'm so glad I get the opportunity to tell you a little more about it, whether you are a local as well and want a quick and easy staycation or maybe you're from out of town and looking for somewhere warm to venture off to during the winter season! Keep reading to hear all about what One Ocean has to offer!
Checking In
The lobby to One Ocean is so stressfree, beachy, relaxing, modern and chic... those are the words that pop into my head when I think of their lobby! Justin and I will often have dinner or grab drinks at the resort's restaurant (more on that later) so I just love popping in there and seeing all of the decor. A beautiful fountain is the centerpiece of the grand entrance with comfy couches surrounding and there's even a little bar you can cozy up to if you are waiting on your room or maybe you're early for dinner reservations in Atlantic Beach! There's always a bartender there ready to take your order! One Ocean recently updated all of the furniture and decoration in the lobby as well- such a pretty spot for pictures or even sitting on one of the lounge chairs with a book and a glass of wine!
The Rooms
The rooms at One Ocean are beautifully decorated as well. King room, double room, suites and corner suites are all available upon request. If you are looking for an ocean view- make sure you book a room that says "ocean front balcony" . Since One Ocean is an independent resort- their prices are very reasonable and include complimentary snacks and drinks in your room, a free cocktail with dinner and beach loungers upon request! I love that you won't be hit with crazy additional fees for every amenity you want to enjoy!
Dinner at Azurea
Oh Mama! Dinner was DELISH! Like I said, Justin and I went here for dinner the night we got engaged- Justin actually proposed out on the beach, but the weather was sort of bad off and on so his back up plan was to do it right there in the restaurant! I remember it like it was yesterday- he made the server move us to a back corner table (just in case) and didn't eat much at all he was so nervous! In my mind I thought wait maybe we're not getting engaged- maybe he's breaking up with me! haha! Anyway...moving on.... we had dinner at One Ocean's restaurant called Azurea and it was so so yummy! Above is a picture of all of our food and dessert! The filet was to die for!The blue arch you see above is the iconic entrance into the restaurant, the picture is cool, but it is SOOO COOL in person! In this last picture is another bar that's attached to the restaurant (still part of the restaurant, just right outside the formal seating area) They recently renovated this area and I am so impressed! I can say that because we've been coming here when it was the old design. It's a smaller area, but they reconfigured everything to accommodate more people! Now there's tons of high top bar space to sit at and cute little bistro like tables towards the back! It's really pretty and fun and I can't wait to go back for a little happy hour drink!
Self Care Spa Day
The pool is available to anyone staying at the resort, but you can see the pool and the beach from inside the spa!
I received the coolest spa treatment during my stay. We did the Hot Ginger & Peppermint Body Scrub (which is a holiday special right now) it had the rich aroma of holiday scents with a whipped honey sea salt full-body scrub. My massage therapist scrubbed my entire body and then turned on a Vichy shower which is a full shower head... with like 12 heads so your whole body is covered with "warm rain" as they call it. It gently dissolved the scrub and then my therapist massaged a warm peppermint oil all over for added moisture. It was the coolest treatment- I highly recommend.
Although we live down the street and pass by it all the time, One Ocean is such a serene getaway for anyone! I couldn't recommend staying here enough! The amenities are beautiful, right on the beach and has everything you need during your stay. However, if you stay for an extended time, it's at the end of the Atlantic Beach town center strip so you can walk from your resort to SO many restaurants, bars and shopping!
