Two of my Favorite Closet Staples + A Little Life Update
BLACK TANK | DENIM SHORTS | SUNGLASSES | WEDGES | PURSE | BRACELET | BELT | NECKLACE | EARRINGS
Happy Monday, Yall! I hope everyone had a great weekend and a fantastic Father's Day yesterday! We were with my mom in the hospital everyday- she is doing well and should be coming home today! She's still in a lot of pain and cannot really move until she is fully healed which is SO incredibly hard to watch anyone- especially your mom go through something like this. If you didn't catch it on Instagram last week, my mom was diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer a couple months ago and had her double mastectomy and reconstruction last Thursday. After she heals enough from that, this Fall she will be having another surgery for the ovarian. Since they caught everything so soon, all should be good and she should be back to normal in a few months. That being said, this is one of the main reasons I haven't been as consistent on the blog. Although I LOVE creating content and blog posts for you all, it is very, very time consuming and while I aspire to be able to run Hello Alley full time one day, I still have my actual full time job everyday. So, while I normally come home and work on this little blog after work everyday and shoot some things on the weekends, I have been opting to spend a little more time with my family and my mom :) but, her surgery is done and all went well so I should be getting back into the swing of things!
Whew, ok that was a lot, but I have promised myself from the beginning that I was going to always be very transparent and real with you all here on the blog! Now, onto this outfit! Distressed denim shorts and a black tank are two items I'm sure everyone has in their closet (if you don't, you can find both HERE and HERE) Sometimes an easy outfit is just what you're looking for, but in order to make it not boring- you need to accessorize girl! While I would normally pair an outfit like this with fun tassel earrings or a bright colored necklace, I decided to go more neutral ( I loveee black and brown together) with some cheetah print detail ( also my secret love hehe) I wore this to dinner with my family a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was really simple, yet the detail and accessories kind of pulled the whole thing together. When you are in a crunch and can't seem to find anything to wear, don't forget about simple staples like this- solid color tshirts, jeans, a plain casual dress- as long as you pair it with a fun pair of shoes or bag, you'd be surprised at what it can do to your outfit!
Thanks for stopping by today babes!
