Beauty and the Beach: Versatile Summer Style
I know, I know. You're probably like wait.... isn't Fall on the horizon? Why is Aub showing us swimsuits?! Well, friends.. It was 102 degrees yesterday and doesn't look like it's cooling down any time soon so I might as well embrace it and show y'all a few more cute summer outfits while I can!
So you all knew I grew up near the beach and made my way back to the sand and sun after college to live full time at the beach with my Justin and our furry little man, Roscoe. Being a born and raised beach gal who also loves to look put together, I'm constantly looking for trendy pieces that transition well from a sunfilled day in the ocean to a nice dinner out with family and friends. Today, I'm sharing four versatile pieces that accomplish that goal.
WHITE DENIM SKIRT
Sometimes you want to look fancy and cute, sometimes you want to look a little more undone. A denim skirt, wedges, and a bag can go from casual, to stylish with just the change of a shirt!
This ruffled cold shoulder is adorable for a summer night on the town! I loved how it paired with a white denim skirt. I opted for wedges, a clutch and a cute pair of earrings to turn this outfit into something a little more appropriate if going to a nice dinner.
Still wearing the white denim skirt, for a more relaxed look, I paired it with a muscle tee in the prettiest coral color. I threw on a straw pom pom hat (which is great after a day at the beach... no need to do extra work on your hair when you have a cute hat to put over it!) and I knotted up the muscle tank to put a little feminine twist on it- literally! I decided to keep the wedges on because, well, who doesn't like having elongated legs in a mini skirt? This outfit would work with lace up flats as well.
ONE PIECE SWIMSUIT + COVERUP + PINEAPPLE FLOAT
Score! Express is now selling pool floats...pineapple floats might I add. I have been floating around on this pineapple for a while now and it is, for sure, coming with me on our family vacation in a couple of weeks!
During the summer, we often spend the entire day down at the beach. When we need a quick break from the sun we walk up to a restaurant or one of the beach bars. As a true beach girl, I don't wear makeup down to the ocean or worry about my hair, but that doesn't mean I don't care about how I look when we pop in. Therefore, I'm always on the hunt for a cute coverup that coordinates with my swimwear.
I am OBSESSED with this red one piece! (currently on sale!) The color is gorgeous and the cut is absolutely fabulous! I've been on that one-piece trend lately and I honestly think it is one of the most flattering pieces to wear all while being fuss free!
As mentioned above, I'm all about those cute coverups! This one in particular immediately caught my eye! I knew I had multiple suits that would go with it and it looked comfy, but something I could also throw on if I had enough sun on my skin for the day! The material is a really nice linen and the drawstring in the middle helps cinch your waist for a more flattering look!
What's your favorite thing to wear to the beach or for a night on the town during these warm months? These outfits above are basically my summer uniform....pineapple float included ;)
